What a finish! We went to the Nairobi Game Park this morning- rolled into the park just as light dawned. Saw lions right off the bat, and was concerned it might go downhill from there but no it didn’t. We saw ALL KINDS of animals, big and small. Some of our favorites: the giraffes- we had a pair run along in front of us for a ways and watching their gait was amazing. It took us awhile but we found the zebras, the rhinos, the buffaloes, and a treeful of baboons. We saw the hippos and crocodiles. It rained last night so the park was lush and it was cool so we think that helped keep the animals out and about longer.
After the game park, we had a team debrief. It was a good time of closure, especially for me because I will leave the team tomorrow. It was encouraging to hear the highs and lows from each member. We have experienced a lot in a short amount of time, and it will take a long time to process it all, but we started at least.
We enjoyed an evening out for dinner, and then finished with our SPECKA time and our own little closure. The team will attend church tomorrow, and fly out Monday night for OKC. I am leaving tomorrow (Sunday) at 10am to drive to Tenwek Hospital where CRC has been in partnership the past few years. One of the local team members told me I will see a lot of Western Kenya on the way- it is a 4.5 hour drive.
So, quick prayers: 1) good, restorative rest tonight for us all 2) safe travels on the roads tomorrow 3) safe travels for our team on Monday and 4) a fruitful time for me spent at Tenwek on Monday before I head back for a Tuesday afternoon flight to Chiang Mai, Thailand.
I will try to post some pictures once I am settled in Tenwek. I won’t have wi-fi access during the day. Your comments have been encouraging for me.

What an exciting time you have been having. I hope when you come home you will have photo albums to be able to just sit and recall your time there. Also, what a time of growth for you spiritually. Keeping you in my prayers.
Thanks Kathie!

Awesome. So glad you were able to go on safari with the team! Interested to hear about Tenwek…
Wow! What a blessing to end with such a lovely day in the park, good closure as a team and a final shared meal. Praying for good connections at Tenwick, safe travels, and lots of fluids! 😊
Thanks Pam- yes, very careful with the hydration- just have to balance that with having to use squatty potties. It’s a challenge!
