I made it safe and sound. It was about 28 hours of travel- taking a shower last night and getting into a bed felt awesome. Everything went smoothly except the rest of the team had several flight delays and didn’t get here until this morning. They will push through today without sleep in the hopes of going to bed early tonight and getting their sleep cycle reset. I am thankful I had a good 6 hours of sleep.
I will say this, I had forgotten how long 8 hours can be when you are confined to an airplane seat! I passed the time watching videos to prepare for the PMHNP certification exam- I think I am ready for the P450 enzymes, their inducers and inhibitors, etc questions. I am hoping to continue to find pockets of time to study and review because as soon as I get back, I need to get take that test!
Today we are doing a pre brief and preparing our medicines for the pharmacy. My role in the medical clinics will be working with another RN in the “pharmacy” to dispense medications after the providers have seen patients. Pharmacy as in a table set up somewhere. I will understand it all better (hopefully) after our pre brief. We will also get some SIM cards for our phones- I’ll keep you posted about how to stay in touch if you want to.
I will do my best to give a little summary of the day each evening… I have already noticed the internet is a bit slow at times where I am staying. Thanks for sharing this journey with me- I appreciate you sharing in my excitement and joining me in prayer for all that lies ahead.

So grateful and pleased to share in your journey, Marsha! You love adventure like your mom, and are such a generous giver to others. Love you, and look forward to your updates as I pray for safe travels and that you are able to reach and help many!
Thanks Lynn, I am certainly my mother’s daughter when it comes to travel and adventure- but my father’s daughter when it comes to getting to the airport uber early.
Praying for you, Marsh. Love Neal ans Christina
Thanks, So far it has been an incredible experience! Glad you are enjoying your trip as well.
It will be good to see how your journey progresses over the next few weeks. So exciting for those who are able to help medically to provide this much needed care in conjunction with being able to share the hope of the gospel (our greatest need!) Looking forward to reading your updates and getting to know you better when you return to the States!
